A few things guests ask us most often. If your question isn't here, reach out directly; we are happy to help.

Is the cottage really separate from your main house? Yes. Brass Apple Cottage is a standalone carriage house on the same property as our place, but fully private with your own entrance, your own space, and no shared walls or rooms.

How many people can stay? Up to four guests: a queen bed in the bedroom, plus a quality pullout couch in the living room.

What's check-in like? Self check-in with a smartlock, so there's no need to coordinate arrival times with us. Check-in is after 3:00 PM, checkout before 11:00 AM.

Is there parking? Yes, one vehicle in the driveway right outside the cottage. If you're bringing two vehicles or a trailer, there's free street parking right out front as well.

Is there an EV charger? There is, on-site and available for guest use during your stay.

Do you allow pets? No.

Is the cottage good for working remotely? Yes! There's a coffee table in the living area that pulls up to be able to sit on the couch and work at it as a desk. The kitchen table is also expandable if more space is needed. There is fast wifi, and smart TVs. Guests regularly tell us the natural light through the day makes it an easy place to actually get work done.

How close is the hospital? Close enough that we get a fair number of guests staying with us specifically for medical appointments or to support family during a hospital stay. It's a quick, easy trip from the cottage (1.5km).

What's within walking distance? Robron Park with an all-weather soccer field, pickle ball and tennis courts, baseball diamonds a lacross box and kids playground. Strathcona Gardens (ice-arena & pool facilities) is nearby too. There is also a range of shopping at Merecroft Village just on the other side of Robron park. All just a short stroll away.

Can we host an event or party at the cottage? No. The space isn't set up for large gatherings or parties, and we ask guests to respect that for the sake of the neighbourhood.

Is the cottage air conditioned? Yes, there is a built in heat pump with air conditioning as well as a heat-recovery ventilator making it a very comfortable space. Not to mention fast wifi and a full kitchen with high-end appliances and quartz countertops.

Do you offer a discount for direct bookings? Yes. Outside bookings (from AirBnb, Booking.com or VRBO) are marked up so we can recover the commission paid for services to those platforms. Booking directly with us saves you anywhere from 15% to 50% in fees. All our repeat guests have access to an extra 10% off their direct bookings as well.

What if something comes up during our stay? We're a message away and typically respond within the hour. Whether it's a question about the space or something unexpected, we'd rather you reach out than wonder.
